The Youghiogheny River Trail is part of the Great Allegheny Passage, a 152 mile bicycling and walking trail that will connect Pittsburgh with the C&O Canal in Cumberland, Maryland. This section of the trail was once the railbed for the Western Maryland Railroad. The trail is hard-packed crushed limestone, wooded, mostly shaded and flat with some gentle grades which makes it an excellent family trip.
